Kayla and Phillip had their wedding ceremony at a Nature Preserve in Oakdale, MN. They had perfect weather, a beautiful ceremony, and a fun reception. The recipe for an amazing wedding day!

They began their wedding day getting ready with their bridal party, which they kept to just maid of honor and best man. This was such a cool way to keep the bridal party intimate and special. Big bridal party’s are always a good time, but there’s something so special about getting ready and sharing your wedding day with just your bestie!

After the bride and groom were dressed and ready, they met at a nearby park for their first look. Then it was time for portraits and to get ready to say “I do!”. The nature preserve had a cool area with bench seating and a big deck that was the perfect location for the ceremony. Kayla and a friend of the groom planned a surprise for Phillip. He didn’t think they were having a traditional flower girl, so his friend surprised him by being the “Flower Man”. He came down the aisle to fun music and threw rose petals from his fanny pack. It was hilarious and the groom’s reaction was priceless!

After their first kiss, the newlyweds headed to a park that was special to them and read their vows to each other and exchanged gifts. Reading their vows in private was such an amazing way for them to steal a moment alone during what was sure to be a whirlwind of an evening! I photographed their gift exchange, took some portraits, and then headed off to the reception.

The reception was held at the Sgt Pepper’s Bar & Grille in Oakdale, MN. Their patio made for the perfect back drop for their celebration! I wish Kayla and Phillip (and their pup Thor, seen in the photos with his adorable little tux) all the best and can’t wait to see where their next adventure takes them!
