Rachel and Steele had their wedding at the Hyland Hills Chalet in Bloomington, Minnesota. I first met Rachel and Steele at a wedding I photographed for Steele’s sister. Rachel was a bridesmaid and Steele was the officiant! It was so cool to be able to also capture their big day and see many familiar faces!
Rachel got ready at the Hyland Hills Chalet with her closest ladies. Her mom and sister helped her get into her wedding dress and then she had a first look with her dad. These first looks are always so sweet! Steele and Rachel had decided to not have their own first look, so he first saw his bride when she came down the aisle. He was very emotional when he saw Rachel for the fist time and it was a beautiful moment.
After the ceremony we took family and bridal party portraits behind the chalet. Then it was time for bride and groom portraits! We hopped in Steele’s truck and drove up the ski hill and stopped at the top. It was such a cool spot for photos with the city in the background!
After that, it was time to head back to the reception! Rachel and Steele first got to know each other while working at a Subway together. So instead of a traditional wedding cake, they had a platter of Subway cookies! I love when couples include things in their wedding day that are special and unique to them and their love story! Plus, Subway’s chocolate chip cookies are my favorite! After dinner and speeches, the newlyweds had their first dance. Then the party really began!
I had so much fun spending the day with them! It was a beautiful day at a beautiful venue. What more could you ask for?
