Stefanie and Cory had planned to celebrate their big day in Kansas, surrounded by their family and friends. But COVID had other plans and they had to reschedule to a later date. After two years of planning, they really didn’t want to give up their original wedding date and decided to elope up the North Shore and celebrate with a big wedding and party later in the year! They asked a friend to get ordained and along with another friend of theirs we headed up the shore!
We met at Pier B to capture some shots by the Lift Bridge in Duluth. Cory and Stefanie both work on bridges and they have played a big part in their lives, so it was only fitting to stop by the most iconic bridge in Duluth! Then we headed up the shore, with our first stop at Gooseberry Falls! Then down to Split Rock Lighthouse and finally ending at Black Beach in Silver Bay. They exchanged vows at the edge of Lake Superior as the sun set and then celebrated with champagne and a slice of pie from Betty’s Pies!
It may not have been the wedding they had planned for that date, but it sure was a beautiful and intimate celebration of their love and the beginning of their life together! It was such an honor to capture this day for them (and even sign their marriage certificate as a witness!). They also still had the big wedding of their dreams in September, so now they will have two wedding dates to cherish and remember forever!
